Lady Wildcats, Tellechea and Kuntz, Make Top 25
The Lady Wildcats volleyball team has cracked the top 20 of the latest USCAA Volleyball rankings, and two members of the team also rank among the national leaders in two individual categories. With their win on Tuesday night, the volleyball team climbed to 17th in the latest USCAA poll, which was released on September 14.
Junior middle hitter, Taylee Tellechea, currently ranks fifteenth nationally in blocks in the USCAA. She holds a record of 9 solo and 16 assists, for a total of 25 blocks. Tellechea hopes to continue her strong play throughout the rest of the season and rise even further in the national rankings.
Freshman setter, Kaitlin Kuntz, holds spot 18 among national leaders with her assist. She has currently recorded 134 assists thus far. As a freshman, Kuntz has plenty of chances to show improvement and move up both in the USCAA rankings and on the JWU career achievements list.
Good job Lady Wildcats!
