Charlotte, NC – Johnson & Wales University held their First Annual JWU Wildcat Golf Classic on August 3 at Tega Cay Golf Club in Tega Cay, SC.
The event, following a four-person scramble/captain's choice format, featured 40 total golfers and raised over $5,000 for Johnson & Wales Athletics at the Charlotte campus.
"We are pleased to have successfully launched our Annual JWU Golf Classic," said Trudi Lacey, Director of Athletics. "We want to thank all of our participants, sponsors, staff, coaches, athletes and student assistants who made this possible. We look forward to continuing this tradition and building strong ties in the Charlotte community."
The event was sponsored by a wide array of local supporters, including SpringHill Suites by Marriott Uptown, Performance Food Group, Elior North America, BSN Sports, Waffle House, Rose Transportation, New Wrap Order, Raymond James/CBL Financial Services, Inc., and State Farm/James Brown.
Lunch was provided for all in attendance by JWU alumnus Kevin Chan and New Wrap Order.
The winning foursome, representing Rose Transportation, included team members Andy Thompson, H.A. Thompson, Hunter Thompson, and Jeff Thompson with a score of 61.
