Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales University soccer players Jalen Jackson (Kannapolis, NC/ A.L. Brown HS) and Danielle Doyle (Central Islip, NY/ Central Islip HS) have each earned USCAA National Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 26.
Jackson earned the award for the second time this season. The junior striker led the men's soccer program to three consecutive victories over USCAA opponents on the week with eight goals and one assist to his name. He recorded a hat trick on Thursday at defending PSUAC champion Penn State Brandywine in a 4-0 win, two goals and an assist in a 7-0 win at Williamson College of the Trades on Friday, and another hat trick in a 10-0 victory at Central Penn on Sunday.
He currently leads the USCAA in both goals (20) and total points (45).
Doyle, a junior midfielder, recorded three goals and an assist as the women's soccer program claimed a 4-1 home victory over Washington Adventist University on Saturday. She currently has six goals and five assists in just five matches on the year.
The award is the second National Player of the Week nod for Doyle in her career, having previously earned the honor her freshman season.
