JWU Announces Formation of New Athletic Conference
Charlotte, NC –  Johnson & Wales University Charlotte Athletics is excited to announce its first ever conference affiliation which will increase opportunities for student athletes to compete for conference championships, academic awards, and automatic bids to USCAA National Championships.
 
The formation of the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference (EMAC) was spearheaded by JWU director of athletics, Trudi Lacey, who will serve as President of the new conference. The new board of directors will include vice president, Robin Martin (Warren Wilson), and treasurer, Andy Meneely (Mid Atlantic Christian University). "We are thrilled to be a part of EMAC and to establish a competitive conference that will continue to grow for years to come." said Lacey
 
The Eastern Metro Athletic Conference (EMAC) will feature Johnson and Wales, Warren Wilson College (Swannanoa, NC), The Apprentice School (Newport News, VA), and Mid-Atlantic Christian University (Elizabeth City, NC) and will officially begin conference play Fall, 2018.
