Road Weary Wildcats Blown Out by Coastal Carolina

Conway, SC – A mere twenty four hours after traveling to Lynchburg, VA to play Randolph College, Johnson & Wales (1-9) (Ranked 13th in the USCAA D-II Coaches Poll) was on the road again Tuesday night, as they made the journey to Conway, SC to take on Coastal Carolina. The leg weary Wildcats were no match for the rested Chanticleers as Coastal Carolina rolled to a 96-40 win.

The Wildcats shot a season-worst 24% from the field, and 22% from 3 point land. JWU's two leading scorers, Kindrick Anderson and Jay Keller, who each average over 12 points a game, combined to go 4-20, and scored a total of 12 points between them. Taylor Thomas added 7 points, while Michael Daniel and Joshua Cohen added 6 each. Adarius Davis was the top rebounder for JWU with 4, but the much taller Chants doubled up the Wildcats on the glass, 60-30.

Coastal Carolina, which had four days of rest coming into this game, was led in scoring by Anthony Raffa's 26 points. Charles Ashford and El Hadji Ndieguene each had 16 in the winning effort. Ndieguene completed the double-double with 10 rebounds.

The Wildcats now get five days off over the Thanksgiving holiday before wrapping up the current five game road trip at Greensboro College on Monday, November 26 at 7:30pm.
