Shooting Woes Costly as Men's Basketball Falls to Bob Jones

Greenville, SC - The USCAA #17 Johnson & Wales men's basketball team struggled from both the field and the free throw line in an 88-73 loss at Bob Jones University on Tuesday.

Senior forward Rickey Porter posted his sixth double-double in eight games for the Wildcats (7-12), finishing with 24 points and 11 rebounds.  Freshman Majerle Poole (14 points) was the only other player in double figures.

Johnson & Wales shot just 38 percent for the game, including a 4-of-15 performance from beyond the arc.  More concerning, however, were the team's struggles at the free throw line.

The Wildcats made an eye-popping 42 trips to the charity stripe, but connected on only half of their attempts.

Bruins guard Marshall Riddle led all scorers with 31 points on the evening while forward Quez Fisher added 21 points for the hosts.

Johnson & Wales will travel to Elizabeth City, NC, on Saturday to square off against USCAA rival Mid-Atlantic Christian.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
