Men's Basketball Upset by Mustangs

Elizabeth City, NC - The USCAA #14 Johnson & Wales men's basketball team suffered an upset to in-state rival Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Saturday, losing 80-72 on the road.

Senior forward Rickey Porter led all scorers with 22 points for Johnson & Wales (7-13).  Freshman Majerle Poole finished with 17 points while Christian Creswell added 12 points for the Wildcats.

The win was only the second in favor of Mid-Atlantic Christian in the history of the matchup, with Johnson & Wales leading the all-time series 10-2.

Jeremy Vincent and Leander Williams each finished with 21 points for the Mustangs.

The Wildcats will look to get back on track Tuesday when they host Bob Jones University at the Wildcat Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
