Second Half Woes Cost Wildcats in Loss to Bob Jones

Charlotte, NC - The USCAA #14 Johnson & Wales men's basketball team saw a one-point halftime deficit turn into a heavy loss, as the Wildcats fell 101-68 to visiting Bob Jones University on Tuesday at the Wildcat Center.

The Wildcats (7-14) were outscored 59-27 in the second frame, sending the team to its fourth consecutive defeat.

Senior Rickey Porter finished with 25 points for Johnson & Wales while Majerle Poole and Javon Smith also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Marshall Riddle led Bob Jones with a game high 28 points, including eight three-pointers.

The Bruins connected on 16-of-34 from beyond the arc while also dominating the glass with a 43-28 rebounding advantage.

Johnson & Wales will resume play on Thursday when they travel to Columbia, SC, to play Columbia International University.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
