Charlotte, NC - Head Coach Jim Casciano and the Johnson & Wales men's basketball program announced the signing of Harrisonburg, VA, native Kajuan Madden for the 2017-2018 season. Madden, a graduate of Harrisonburg High School, is the tenth member of Casciano's 2017 recruiting class.
"I am excited that Kajuan has decided to be a part of the Johnson & Wales basketball family," said Casciano. "Kajuan is a quality person with high character that has excelled in the classroom and on the basketball court. His versatility, IQ, and competitiveness will allow him to be an impact plyayer. He is a difference maker."
The 5'11" guard led Harrisonburg to a 14-11 record his senior year, averaging 13 points, seven assists, and three rebounds per game. He was selected to the 1st Team All-Valley District and 1st Team All-Conference 21 West teams for his efforts. Madden was also selected for and played in the the Valley District All-Star game.
On the AAU circuit, he averaged 15 points and eight assists for Your Future Basketball, Inc.
Madden is a standout student, earning selection to the "A" honor roll and serving as the club president for Teaches for Tomorrow's chapter Educators Rising at Harrisonburg High School. He also is a recipient of the ECMC Honors scholarship.
He is the son of Diane Madden and is currently undecided in his choice of majors.
