Shackleford Leads Women's Basketball Past Bob Jones

Greenville, SC - Vanderia Shackleford scored a game high 22 points as the USCAA #13 Johnson & Wales women's basketball team won 91-69 at Bob Jones University on Tuesday.

The junior guard put in a well-rounded performance for the Wildcats (13-6), tacking on seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals.  It was her fourth straight game with at least 20 points.

Ineesha Hankerson finished with 16 points for Johnson & Wales while Jaquana Pauling recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Anaja Matthews and Donyelle Stuetley scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, off the bench.

The Wildcats were strong defensively throughout the contest, holding Bob Jones to under 29 percent shooting on the night while forcing 17 turnovers.  The Bruins ended up settling for a high number of long range shots, finishing just 4-of-31 from beyond the arc.

Kylee Leffew led Bob Jones with 15 points.

Johnson & Wales will resume play on Friday when they travel to Elizabeth City, NC, to play in the Chesson Classic at Mid-Atlantic Christian University.  The Wildcats will open play against Christendom College.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
