Charlotte, NC - Head Coach Jennifer King and the Johnson & Wales women's basketball program announced the signing of Farmville Central High School senior Qyi'Nesha Pettway on Tuesday. Pettway, a resident of Fountain, NC, is the second player to sign as part of King's 2017 recruiting class.
Pettway has lettered all four years at Farmville Central, most recently helping to lead her school to the second round of the state tournament this year with an 18-6 record. A versatile player who can both handle guard and post duties, Pettway has earned 2nd Team All-County honors from the Daily Reflector each of the past three seasons.
"We are super happy to have Qyi'Nesha join the Johnson & Wales women's basketball family after receiving interest from several NCAA Division I and II schools," said King. "I feel her ability to play the guard and post positions at 6'1 will make her extremely valuable as we continue to build our program and compete nationally."
Pettway earned Team MVP honors for basketball at Farmville Central and is also a standout on the volleyball court. In addition, she is a member of FCCLA.
She is the daughter of Terrance Pettway and plans on majoring in Fashion/Design.
