Wildcats Roll to Season Opening Win

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Women's Basketball team got their season off to a roaring start with a 99-43 win over Penn State Worthington-Scranton in the second game of the JWU Tip-Off Classic Friday nignt. 

The Wildcats used a 31-2 run across the 1st and 2nd quarters to break the game wide open. That spurt gave the Wildcats a 30 point edge that grew to 41 at halftime. 

Each of the twelve Wildcats that saw action on the evening made at least one field goal attempt. Ineesha Hankerson recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Jenna Mills (15), Shannon Martin (13), Dayshanay Brown (11), and Jaquana Pauling (11) were the other double figure scorers for JWU (1-0)

Worthington-Scranton (0-1) was paced by Jessica Berger's 16 points.

The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow at 5pm as they host Penn State-Fayette in the finale of the Tip-Off Classic.
