Columbia, S.C. - The USCAA #2 Johnson & Wales women's basketball team rolled to its sixth straight victory on Saturday, winning 76-60 at Columbia International University.
Jaquana Pauling chipped in with 12 points for the Wildcats.
The win marks the fifth straight game Johnson & Wales has won by double figures. During that stretch, the Wildcats have outscored opponents on average by nearly 26 points per game.
Saturday's game looked to be much more competitive, with the Wildcats holding on to a 19-17 lead early in the second half. However, Johnson & Wales would close the quarter on a 23-5 run and would eventually stretch its lead to 33 points in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
Driving the victory was the team's dominance in the post. Johnson & Wales outscored the Rams 46-26 in the paint and held a 47-35 advantage in rebounding. The team also was lights out from the free throw line, finishing 20-of-22 from the charity stripe.
Raven Fleming led Columbia International with a game high 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Johnson & Wales will resume play on Tuesday when it travels to Greenville, S.C., to play Bob Jones University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
