Mount Olive, NC - Ineesha Hankerson was named to the NCCSIA College Division Women's Basketball All-State 1st Team on Tuesday. She joins players from Mount Olive, Barton, William Peace, and Wingate on the first team.
She was one of two sophomores to earn the honor this season, and becomes the first Johnson & Wales women's basketball player to make the 1st Team. Ineesha averaged 13.0 points and 10.0 rebounds on the season, and set school records for rebounds and blocked shots in a season. She was named USCAA 2nd Team All-American and was also selected as the Most Valuable Player of the USCAA National Championship Tournament.
The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information. The group selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA, USCAA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
