Women's Basketball Adds Kayla Kent to 2018 Class

Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales is excited to announce the signing of Kayla Kent, a 5'9" from James B. Hunt High School in Wilson, NC.

Kent, who plans on majoring in Sports, Event, and Entertainment Management, was a standout player for the Warriors during her prep career. She was named Big East 3A Conference Player of the Year in 2018. She also earned team MVP and All-District 1st Team honors, while being named to several all-tournament teams. She averaged 15.2 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 2.0 apg in her senior season.

Head Coach Jennifer King described what she likes about Kent. "Kayla is an amazing athlete and even better person. Her versatility and length will make her vital to our future success as we look to compete on the national level each year. we are super excited to have her join our JWUWBB family."

Kent is the daughter of Kimberly Mack and Kobe Kent, Jr.
