Pineville, N.C. - The USCAA #5 Johnson & Wales women's soccer team maintained their perfect home record this season with a 4-0 win over William Peace University on Sunday at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.
Danielle Doyle scored twice and set up a third goal as the Wildcats (7-3) improved to 3-0 on their home grounds in 2017.
The junior midfielder opened the scoring just three minutes in after running on to a cross from Grace Newbold and chipping the ball past goalkeeper Kaylea Eubanks with her first touch to make it 1-0.
Diana Camacho doubled the advantage in the 56th minute, finding herself on the end of a errant clearance by the William Peace defense and finishing top corner.
Lana Truese made it 3-0 in the 60th minute on a breakaway, as the Wildcats found themselves on the counter after blocking a set piece by William Peace. Truese was able to win the loose ball, before Doyle played her in behind the William Peace defense for her eighth goal of the season.
Doyle completed the scoring in the 64th minute, finishing near post after Truese took a throw-in from Newbold and beat her defender before laying it off for the shot.
Wildcats goalkeeper Kylie Priddy earned the clean sheet, finishing with three saves on the day.
Johnson & Wales will resume play on Tuesday when it hosts USC-Lancaster at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
