Doyle Scores Twice as Women's Soccer Fends Off Shaw

Pineville, N.C. - Danielle Doyle scored twice in the second half as the USCAA #4 Johnson & Wales women's soccer team claimed a 2-1 victory over Shaw University at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville on Thursday.

The junior midfielder scored in the 46th and 72nd minutes for the Wildcats (10-4), lifting the team to its sixth win in seven matches.  Midfielder Abigail Durisseau picked up an assist on Doyle's second goal.

Chelsea Hunter had the lone goal for Shaw, scoring in the 52nd minute.

The Wildcats outshot Shaw 11-3 on the night, with an 8-1 advantage in the second half.  Doyle led the way with six shots.  She is now ranked third in the USCAA in goals (19) and total points (47).

Johnson & Wales goalkeeper Kylie Priddy finished with two saves to get the win.

The Wildcats will resume play on Friday, Nov. 3, when they host Columbia International in their season finale.  Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex.
