Johnson & Wales adds a talented setter and team player in Kuntz

The Johnson & Wales Wildcats are sure to get a boost at the setter position with the addition of Kaitlin Kuntz from Gilbert, IA.  Kaitlin played varsity volleyball for Gilbert High School and for the AAU team Digs.

Kaitlin will study culinary arts at Johnson & Wales.  She is also a talented track athlete who competes in the 60 meter hurdles and long jump events.  She holds her high school's volleyball school record for assists.  Kaitlin said about joining the team, "I couldn't be more excited about joining the JWU Wildcats team!  It will be fun to see what we can accomplish together with the returning and new players. Go Wildcats!"

Coach Phillips is very happy to have a setter of Kaitlin's ability.  "Kaitlin has great hands," she said.  "She takes her job of making her hitters better very seriously.  Her school record in assists attests to that.  She's a great team player."

Kaitlin joins Reanna Bray from Conyers, GA, Tori Dublino from Tarpon Springs, FL, and Lauren Cordts from Amherst, NH to round out the 2011 recruiting class.  These players will work with ten upperclassmen on the Johnson & Wales team.  The team will return to campus in August to prepare for its second varsity season in the new student center on the Johnson & Wales campus.
