JWU Volleyball Tops Livingstone in Five

Salisbury, NC - The Johnson & Wales University volleyball team claimed a five-set victory over NCAA D2 opponent Livingstone College on Saturday, winning 25-22, 18-25, 26-24, 24-26, 15-12.

The Wildcats (4-5) were led by Johmillet Berrios with 11 kills while Toniya Scott added 10 of her own.  Victoria Hicklin, taking advantage of an increased workload, added seven kills for a well-balanced Johnson & Wales attack.

"This is what this team is capable of," said head coach Callie Phillips.  "We came together and fought hard for this win against a tough opponent. We made a few lineup changes today, and the team responded very well. I'm happy with our performance today."

Moana Reid finished with 19 assists for the Wildcats while Kendall Watson led the defense with 22 digs.

Johnson & Wales is scheduled to resume play on Tuesday at another NCAA D2 opponent, local rival Johnson C. Smith.  Play is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
