Volleyball Suffers Four-Set Loss at Bob Jones

Greenville, S.C. - The USCAA #8 Johnson & Wales volleyball team suffered a four-set loss on Friday at Bob Jones University, falling 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, 25-16 to the Bruins.

The Wildcats (12-11) were led by Johmillet Berrios with 12 kills on the night while Toniya Scott added eight.

"We just couldn't find a rhythm tonight," said head coach Callie Phillips.  "We had some great rallies and were aggressive in spots, but we gave away a few too many points to be able to play with a lead or gain ground.  Bob Jones's defense was sound and didn't leave many holes for us to exploit, either."

Moana Reid posted a game high 28 assists while Kendall Watson led all players with 25 digs.

In all, six different Wildcats recorded 10 or more digs, including Watson, Scott, Reid, Berrios, Keri Ketchie, and Halle Franklin.  As a team, Johnson & Wales finished with 100 total digs in the four sets.

The team will resume play on Tuesday when it travels to Pinehurst, N.C. to play Sandhills Community College.  Play is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
