Volleyball Defeats Toccoa Falls 3-1, Wins Third Straight

Charlotte, N.C. - The USCAA #7 Johnson & Wales volleyball team claimed a four set Homecoming victory over Toccoa Falls on Friday, winning by the scores of 25-19, 21-25, 27-25, 25-12.

Madison Steed posted a career high 15 kills for the Wildcats (15-11), while Toniya Scott (14 kills) and Johmillet Berrios (11 kills) also reached double digits.

"What a great night," said head coach Callie Phillips.  "We had alumni players and recruits in the stands, and a great crowd on hand for this match.  Our team really played well and withstood quite a challenge from Toccoa Falls.  We worked around some injuries and illness tonight, but that didn't affect our level of play.  Numerous players stepped up and helped us get the win.  I'm looking forward to a fun day with our volleyball alumni tomorrow."

Moana Reid posted 36 assists on the evening while Kendall Watson added 36 digs for Johnson & Wales.  Berrios finished with 21 digs for the hosts.

The Wildcats will resume play on Tuesday when they travel to High Point, N.C., to play John Wesley University.  Play is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
