Wildcats Add South Carolina Standout Godbee to 2018 Class

Charlotte, NC - Head Volleyball Coach Callie Phillips has announced the signing of the second member of her 2018 recruiting class in Lauren Godbee of Bonneau, SC.

Gobee is a 5'9" Middle Hitter/Outside Hitter that plays for Timberland High School and plans on majoring in Business Management at Johnson & Wales. She is an honor roll student at Berkley County Middle College, and will graduate this spring with an Assoicate's Degree. She has also been named a recipient of the Life Scholarship Award.

She earned All-Region honors in both 2016 and 2017 and was named Most Valuable Player during those seasons as well. In addition to her volleyball prowess, she was also a four-time All-Region selection at goalkeeper in soccer.

Phillips is excited about what Godbee brings to JWU. "Lauren really stood out to me at a recruiting showcase earlier this year, and her highlight video has her doing a little bit of everything for her team.  She is a smart and resourceful utility player who can play anywhere and make smart decisions.  I'm even more impressed with her high character and work ethic.  I'm looking forward to working with her and seeing what she brings to our program."

Godbee is the daugther of Shannon and David Godbee, and the granddaughter of Donna Cool and Dwight Godbee.
