Volleyball Splits at CIU Tri-Match

Columbia, SC - JWU's Women's Volleyball Team traveled to Columbia International to take on Morris College and CIU. The Wildcats came away with the split, defeating Morris, 3-0 and losing to CIU, 3-1.

The first match was never in doubt as JWU defeated the Hornets (0-9) of Morris College in three sets , 25-11, 25-15, and 25-17. Lauren Godbee led the Wildcats in assists with 9 to accompany her 5 service aces. Demya Scott paced the team with 11 digs.

The second contest of the day matched the Wildcats (11-7) against host school CIU. JWU took the first set with a score of 25-21, but the Rams (8-9) took the next three sets, 25-20, 25-20, 25-21. Taylor Walker had 9 kills to lead the Wildcats. Moana Reid had 33 assists in the match. Kendall Watson had 22 digs for JWU.

The Wildcats take the court next on Oct. 2 as they travel to Benedict for a 7:00 pm match.
