Wildcats Exhibit Complete Performance In Road Win

Winston-Salem, NC - JWU Women's Volleyball Team took on Piedmont International in a tough road test tonight. The Wildcats, looking for revenge from a 1-3 defeat to PIU earlier in the season, were victorious in three sets.

JWU jumped on the Bruins (15-8) early, taking the first set, 25-17. Set two was a closer affair, with the Wildcats (14-12) winning, 25-22. #5 JWU wrapped up the evening with a 25-21 set three to return home victorious.

"We made plays tonight that are taking us to the next level. Our defense was tough, and our offense was aggressive. I'm pleased with our confidence and poise tonight to get the 3-0 win against a very good team that beat us earlier in the year," commented Wildcats Head Coach Callie Phillips. "We are playing well at the right time, and I'm hoping we'll continue to improve."

Taylor Walker paced the team with 7 kills, Moana Reid had 23 assists to go with 12 digs. Kendall Watson added 21 digs followed by Halle Franklin (17) and Lynasia Felder (14) to lead the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will celebrate their seniors on Thursday, Oct. 25 as they host Bob Jones University. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 pm with a pre-match celebration for the graduating seniors.
