Successful Food Drive For Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Charlotte, NC - The JWU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee recently concluded a successful end-of-year food drive to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

The SAAC food drive donations were delivered directly to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte provides a safe, affordable, and caring "home-away-from-home" for the families of children receiving treatment in Charlotte-area medical facilities.

JWU junior and SAAC representative Lana Truese spearheaded the project. "I am very happy with the outcome of our Ronald McDonald House food drive," remarked Truese. "On behalf of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, we are proud of our JWU students, faculty, and staff for donating over 100 items! We can't wait for our next charity event. We are also grateful to Professor Jeff Longo and the Sports Marketing Club for their support."

Every donation earned a raffle entry and two JWU students were winners of home tickets for the Charlotte Hornets and Charlotte Checkers.
