Charlotte, NC -JWU Volleyball Coach Callie Phillips has announced Emily Arends as the first addition to the 2019 volleyball signing class. The outside hitter and defensive specialist from Maple Grove, Minnesota will join the Wildcats as they seek to defend their USCAA D2 National Championship in 2019. Emily played for Osseo Senior High School where she won two varsity letters. She also played club volleyball for Minnesota Select and Club Tonka in addition to being a track and field participant at her school.
"Emily is a solid, six-rotation player who can potentially help us in many ways. She is also a strong student who is dedicated to her studies and following her passion to bake to Charlotte," remarked JWU Head Coach Callie Phillips. "I am happy to make her our first 2019 signing and know that she will be a great addition to our team and our campus."
Emily is the daughter of Heather and Craig Arends is planning to major in Baking & Pastry Arts. While in high school she has received "High Honors" as well as being named the "Biology Scholar of the Year."
