Women's Hoops Hosting 4th Annual Play4Kay Game This Saturday

The Johnson & Wales Charlotte Athletic Department invites you to attend the 4th Annual Play4Kay Fundraiser Game on February 1st at 3:00 pm at the Wildcat Center. JWU Athletic Director Trudi Lacey played for the legendary Kay Yow while at NC State. Attendees are asked to wear pink to honor the many women who have fought cancer. The game is part of a double-header, taking place after the JWU Men's Basketball game at 1:00 pm. Both teams will face EMAC opponent Apprentice School.

Hall-of-Fame Coach Kay Yow coached at North Carolina State University for over 35 years and courageously fought breast cancer for 22 years before her death in 2009. In 2007, she founded the Kay Yow Cancer Fund to support women's cancer research and bring awareness to the disease.

Each year colleges and universities across the country participate in the National Play4Kay Week to raise awareness and funds for this very important cause.  JWU Women's Basketball is thrilled to be a part of this cause and to help raise funds in memory of Coach Yow.

Wear pink and come out to support your Wildcats!  Cash or check donations to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will be accepted throughout the game.

If you are unable to attend the game or wish to donate electronically, please visit our team fundraising page:
