Toccoa Falls, GA – Less than 19 hours after finishing up their home schedule with a win over Mid-Atlantic Christian, Johnson & Wales (8-23) made the trip south along I-85 to take on the Toccoa Falls Eagles (8-22) for the second time this season. Their first matchup was a tight one that the Wildcats won 64-61 in come from behind fashion. This game would mirror that one, as JWU clawed their way to a 61-58 win, their 3rd straight.
Mario Irby recorded his third double-double on the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He totalled 20 points and 20 rebounds in the two games against Toccoa Falls this season. Kareem Wilson followed with 11 points and 8 rebounds. The guard tandem of Joshua Cohen and Nick Crawford combined for 16 points and 16 rebounds
The road win is the fourth of the season for JWU, and the third consecutive is the first in the program's brief three year history. Wildcat Head Coach Dion Lansdale, was happy to earn a road win saying the game was a "good team win."
The Wildcats wrap up the season as they take on North Greenville on Wednesday, February 20th at 2:15pm. The match-up will take place at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Uptown Charlotte.
