Winston-Salem, NC - Just 22 hours after being on the wrong end of a fifty-one point defeat at the hands of NC Central, Johnson & Wales (3-3) turned the tables on Piedmont International (0-3). The Wildcats set numerous school records in route to a 122-61 win.
Following a tight first three minutes, JWU went on a 12-2 run to take a 17-6 lead at the 14:58 mark. The Wildcats maintained a comfortable working margin for the next seven minutes. Joshua Cohen then scored 7 of his 25 first half points in just over a minute to push the lead to 16 at 39-23. JWU remained hot, hitting 9 of their next 14 from the field to push the lead to 64-35 with a minute and a half left in the period. Cohen capped off the half with 6 points in the final 1:16 to give the Wildcats a 71-37 lead at the break.
The second half was much like the first as the Wildcats extended their 34 point halftime lead to the eventual winning margin of 61. Of note in the second half, Kyle Cooper checked in with just under ten minutes remaining in the game and proceeded to score 11 points, including three 3 point field goals.
