Greensboro, NC – The Wildcats (3-5) took on the Panthers of LaGrange College in their second and final game of the Guilford College Invitational this afternoon. LaGrange proved to be the better team beating JWU, 88-83.
JWU started the game quickly, taking an early lead at 7-5. Even game play from both teams allowed the score to be tied up 8 times throughout the first half. With the final tie at 40, a Joshua Cohen 3 pointer would push the Wildcats ahead by 3 going into halftime, 43-40.
The Wildcats were able to uphold their lead for 3 minutes into the start of the second half. The Panthers, Mike White would make a basket that would push them to take the lead from the Wildcats for the remainder of the game. JWU was able to close the gap within 4 with 9 seconds left on the clock, but LaGrange was able to take the game 88-83.
Kindrick Anderson led the Wildcats with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Cohen followed with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Nick Crawford and DeQuincey Bennett added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Wildcats are next in action as they travel to Macon, GA to take on the Bears of Mercer University on Wednesday, November 20th. Tip-off is set for 7pm.
