Spartanburg, SC - The Wildcats (3-7) returned from the Thanksgiving break to take on NCAA D-1 opponent Wofford (2-4) today in the first meeting between the schools. Wofford shot over 50% from the field and 3 point range in winning 90-48.
JWU briefly led 4-2 in the first half before a 9-0 Terrier run gave them an 11-4 lead. A Duane Chisholm free throw brought the Wildcats to within five with 13:22 left in the half. Wofford extended the lead to nine over the next three minutes, 20-11. Wofford closed the half on a 27-11 spurt to take a 25 point halftime lead.
The Terriers scored the first 6 points of the second half to put to rest any chance of a Wildcat comeback. They cruised home from there with a 90-48 win.
Nick Crawford led the Wildcats with 17 points on 8-12 shooting. Kindrick Anderson had 9 points while Hursel Forbes and DeQuincey Bennett had 4 rebounds each.
The Wildcats return home Tuesday, 12/3 as they host Greensboro College at 7:30pm.
