Visit to Davidson, 10 USCAA Opponents Highlight Basketball Schedule

Charlotte, NC - The 2013-2014 Johnson & Wales Charlotte Men's Basketball Schedule is out, and it shapes up to be a great one. The Wildcats will take on five NCAA Division I opponents, as well as ten USCAA foes, the most in program history. Additionally, the Wildcats will take part in the inagural JWU Cup, pitting the basketball teams from the four regional campuses against each other.

The Wildcats tip the season off by hosting the JWU Classic on Nov. 1st and 2nd. It will feature three other USCAA schools: Warren Wilson, and both the New York and New Jersey campuses of Berkley College. JWU will be road warriors the second week in November. They will be in Durham on Sun., Nov. 11 to take on North Carolina Central, and Winston-Salem on Mon., Nov. 12 to face off with Piedmont International. The Wildcats will travel back to the triad at the end of that week to participate in the Daly Seven Hotels Invitational at Guilford College, Nov. 15th and 16th. Their next two games bookend the term break as they go to Mercer on Nov. 20, and travel to Wofford on Nov. 30.

The December schedule gives Wildcat fans quite a few gifts. JWU makes the short trip up I-77 to take on perenniel NCAA tournament participant Davidson on Sat., 12/7. The team will spend the second weekend of the month in Providence for the first annual JWU Cup. This tournament will feature the squads from each campus facing off to determine the best Johnson & Wales team. Charlotte's first opponent is the North Miami campus on Friday, 12/13. The Wildcats close out the 2013 calendar year with a trip to Buies Creek to take on Big South member Campbell on Sat., 12/21.

JWU rings in the new year with a visit from local rival Barber-Scotia on Jan. 9, followed by defending USCAA D-II National Champion Warren Wilson on Jan. 14. The Wildcats take part in their fourth and final tournament of the season when they host the JWU Invitational on MLK weekend. The remainder of January features a home contest with Bob Jones University (1/21) and the return game at Warren Wilson (1/30).

The season finishes with a flourish in February as the Wildcats play seven games in twenty days. Two of those games are at home against first year programs Columbia International (2/4), and College of Faith (2/8).
