Charlotte, NC -- Kemionne Feely-Lewis of Durham, NC has signed to play with the Johnson & Wales Wildcats Men's Basketball Team in 2014-2015. Feely-Lewis is the son of Patricia Feely and redshirted last year at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC. He will major in Sports/ Entertainment/Event Management at JWU.
During his last season of competition as a senior at Durham School of the Arts, Feely-Lewis averaged 13 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game. At 6'1", he is a combo guard capable of contributing in many areas. As a high school senior, he received an honorable mention all-conference award and was ranked #41 in North Carolina by Scouts Focus. He was also honored as the best shooter in attendance at the Elite 80 Camp in Greensboro, NC.
Head Coach Jim Casciano is happy to add a well-rounded player like Feely-Lewis to his roster. "Kemionne fits in with the kind of student-athlete that we are looking to recruit to JWU," he said. "He has proven success in the classroom and on the basketball floor. As a combination guard, he adds versatility and scoring to what will be a very competitive group of perimeter players."
The signing of Feely-Lewis adds another piece to the Wildcats' growing backcourt and perimeter players. The Wildcats look to control the pace of the game, and Casciano is assembling the right players to accomplish this. Preseason workouts begin soon after school starts in September, and the Wildcats open at home on October 31 against Crown College.
