Charlotte, NC -- Bryson Rankin, a small forward from nearby Vance High School in Charlotte, NC has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Johnson & Wales Wildcats during the 2014-2015 season. A 2014 graduate, he brings a potential four years of eligibility to the JWU program, and the coaching staff is looking forward to his contributions on the court.
In the 2013-2014 season, the 6'4" Rankin was selected to the MECKA 4A All-Conference Basketball Team after averaging 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. “We are very excited to get a player of Bryson's potential and look forward to his development both off and on the court," said Assistant Coach Garry Frazier. "We are ecstatic about his athleticism, and the value that he will bring to our program.”
Rankin, pictured with his mother and Coach Frazier, is the second recruit to sign for the upcoming season. The Johnson & Wales men's basketball team begins a new chapter this winter under head coach Jim Casciano. The team's first home game is October 31.
