Charlotte, NC -- The schedules for the 2014-2015 Men's and Women's Wildcat Basketball Teams have been released and are available on the JWU Athletics Webpage. The JWU Men's Basketball Team begins its season at home on October 31 when they host Crown College at 7:30 PM. The next weekend on November 7 and 8, JWU will host a USCAA Tip-Off Tournament to start the competition with other USCAA schools early in the season. St. Joseph's of Vermont and Penn State Fayette will visit Charlotte for this tournament. The Wildcats will get a taste of NCAA Division I competition when they visit the University of North Carolina at Asheville on November 19, and then they will face off with CIAA members Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone College at the JCSU tournament prior to the Thanksgiving break. After a few December games on the road, The JWU Cup, a competition between all four JWU campuses, will be held in Charlotte this year on December 13-14. Show your JWU Charlotte pride when Providence's, Denver's, and North Miami's teams come to town. Two more road games at Radford University and Greensboro College finish out 2014 for the Wildcats. The new year brings more action and some familiar opponents. JWU will host USCAA foe Warren Wilson on January 8, and nearby College of Faith and Barber-Scotia will visit the Student Center on January 16 and 17. JWU then hits the road for five away games before playing Bob Jones University at home on February 10. Three more home games are at the Student Center on February 14, 16, and 19 before the Wildcats wrap up the season with Senior Night on February 26.
The inaugural season for the JWU Women's Basketball Team starts on November 6 at home vs. St. Andrews University. The Lady Wildcats then remain at home to participate in the USCAA Tip-Off Tournament against St. Joseph's of Vermont and Penn State Fayette on November 6 and 7. USCAA opponent Mid-Atlantic Christian University comes to Charlotte on November 15 before the Wildcats hit the road for four straight games prior to visiting JWU's North Miami campus to battle for the JWU Cup. They have one more game at Johnson C. Smith University on December 16 to complete 2014. 2015 starts with a home game against USCAA foe Warren Wilson on January 8. After two away games, the Lady Wildcats will welcome Caldwell Community College to Charlotte on January 20, and Montreat College will visit on January 26. The last three home games for the Lady Wildcats are on February 9 vs. Barber-Scotia, February 14 vs. Trinity Baptist College, and February 19 vs. Allen University. The Lady Wildcats finish their season at Barber-Scotia on February 23.
All home games are played at the Johnson & Wales University Student Center, located at 235 South Cedar Street in uptown Charlotte. Admission is free for JWU students, faculty, and staff, and $5 for guests. All home games are available via live stream on the JWU Athletics website. Come out and support your Wildcats this season!
