JWU Falls Victim to Camels' 3 Point Barrage

Buies Creek, NC - The 17th ranked Johnson & Wales men's basketball team hit the road for their final contest of 2016 Monday night as they took on NCAA D-1 foe Campbell University.

The Camels (6-5) made 16 three pointers en route to a 90-59 win over the Wildcats. JWU (3-8) was able to maintain contact with Campbell for a little more than 23 minutes before a decisive stretch in the second half where the Camels made five 3-pointers in a 5 minute stretch put the game out of reach for the Wildcats.

For the 3rd consecutive game, Rickey Porter led all scorers for either team, this time tallying 23 points. Freshman Majerle Poole had a solid all-around game with 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

The Wildcats have the next couple of weeks off for Winter Break, and return to action on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, as they host USCAA opponent The Apprentice School at 3pm.
