Charlotte, NC - Head Coach Jim Casciano and the Johnson & Wales men's basketball program has announced the signing of Greenville, SC, native Caleb Coleman. Coleman, a point guard at St. Joseph's Catholic High School, is the first signing of Casciano's 2017 recruiting class.
"We are excited that Caleb has decided to attend Johnson & Wales," said Casciano. "Caleb is the real deal as a point guard. He has a very high basketball IQ, great vision, makes others around him better, can score, and is an excellent on-the-ball defensive player."
Coleman earned First Team All-Region honors for St. Joseph's and was a member of the Greenville County All-Star Team. He also earned the team's Best Offensive Player award.
He plays on the AAU circuit for Upward Stars Premier.
In the classroom, Coleman is described by Casciano as "talented" and "the kind of student-athlete we want in our program." Coleman is a member of the honor roll and is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Kappa League leadership group. He intends to major in Business Administration and is the son of Anthony and Michelle Coleman.
