Charlotte, NC - Head Coach Jim Casciano and the Johnson & Wales men's basketball program announced the signing of transfer student Rob Hobson on Tuesday. Hobson will join the Wildcats for 2017 and will have three years of eligibility remaining after playing at NCAA Division 2 program Benedict College.
Hobson, a 6'5" wing, is a graduate of Grace Academy where he was a member of the honor roll. The Huntersville native played basketball for the Combine Academy, where he averaged over 13 points and nearly six rebounds.
After the Combine Academy, Hobson went on to play a season at Benedict College where he helped the team finish with a 16-12 record and earn a top seed in the SIAC East Division.
"Rob is a complete player but the first thing you will notice about him is his ability to shoot the ball," said Casciano. "In addition, he is very competitive, an excellent defender, and makes others around him better. I am excited about Rob joining us and I expect big things from him."
Hobson plans on majoring in Business Management. He is the son of Robert and Staci Hobson.
