Charlotte, N.C. - The USCAA #17 Johnson & Wales men's basketball team won it's season-best fourth game in a row on Saturday, handily defeating in-state USCAA rival Mid-Atlantic Christian University 100-75 at the Wildcat Center.
Majerle Poole scored a game high 21 points for the Wildcats (8-13). The hosts opened up with a 7-0 lead and never trailed throughout the game, leading by as many as 31 along the way.
James Veal, Robert Hobson, and Kajuan Madden-McAfee each finished with 12 points for Johnson & Wales, while Alcyone Moore chipped in with 11 points off the bench. Caleb Coleman also reached double figures with 10 points on the afternoon.
The Wildcats continued their recent trend of shooting the ball well, connecting on 55 percent from the floor and 10-of-22 from beyond the arc. In the process, the team scored 100 points in consecutive games for the first time in program history, following Wednesday's 106-102 victory over #6 Warren Wilson.
The Mustangs (7-17) weren't nearly as efficient, as Johnson & Wales held them to just 35 percent shooting on the day.
Dixon Ogwo led Mid-Atlantic Christian with 17 points.
The Wildcats will look to make it five wins in a row on Monday when they host Bluefield State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Wildcat Center.
