Elizabeth City, NC - Johnson & Wales defeated Mid-Atlantic Christian for the second time in an eight day span on Saturday, holding off the hosts for an 83-80 victory.
The Wildcats (9-15) were red hot from the field in the first half, shooting 57% from the floor, but could not put any distance between themselves and the Mustangs due in large poart to the fact that MACU knocked down 10 three pointers. JWU carried a slim 48-46 lead into the locker room.
Mid-Atlantic Christian opened the second half on a 20-6 run to claim a 12 point lead, their largest of the game. From that point, the Wildcats slowly worked themselves back into the game, before finally retaking the lead late.
Alcyone Moore led all scorers with 24 points and collected 9 rebounds. Brandon Kostyk knocked down six 3's on his way to 20 points, a career high. Malik Bullock recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Leander Williams came off the bench to pace the Mustangs with 18 points.
The Wildcats return home Monday for their final home game of the season against St. Andrews. Senior night activities will start at 7:15pm, with the tip set for 7:30pm.
