Charlotte, NC - JWU Men's Basketball announced Jordan Cooper as the inaugural signing for their 2019 recruiting class. The 5'9" lead guard out of Rolesville High School also played for the Swish City Magic and Carolina Conquerors at the club level.
Jordan, the son of Crystal Broxton, comes to Charlotte in pursuit of a degree in Sports, Entertainment, Event – Management. The 2019 NCBCA All-District 3rd Team member averaged 17.3 points per game for the Rolesville Rams in addition to hitting 60 3 point field goals, dishing out 45 assists, and collecting 44 steals in his senior season.
Cooper says he "chose to go to Johnson & Wales because I felt that on the court Coach Larkin was going to push me and bring something out of me that I did not know I had in myself". Additionally, he states, "Off the court I was going to be able to grow and experience new things in the Charlotte area."
"Jordan is the total package in what we are looking for here at Johnson & Wales," says Head Men's Basketball Coach Dan Larkin. "He is from a great home, extremely high character, fantastic student, and wants to do the work to be the best version of himself every day. I could not be more excited to have Jordan as a part of our program going forward."
