A. L. Brown's Isom Signs With JWU Men's Basketball

Charlotte, NC - JWU Men's Basketball Head Coach Dan Larkin announced the signing of Elijah Isom as the most recent addition to the 2019 recruiting class. The 6'4" power forward out of A. L. Brown High School makes the short trek down to JWU from Kannapolis, NC.

Elijah is the son of Wardell and Patrice Isom and comes to Johnson & Wales in pursuit of a degree in Business Studies. The senior starter for the Wonders averaged 8.9 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and blocked 13 shots for a 21-win team that made a Sweet Sixteen appearance in the NCHSAA 3A state playoffs this winter.

Isom says he chose to attend JWU because it "felt like home". Elijah also spent much of his prep career playing for C.C Elite basketball club on the summer grassroots circuit.

"Elijah is exactly the kind of person, student, and athlete we are looking to add to our program," says Larkin. "He comes from a great family, has tremendous character, and is a great student who will thrive in our Business program. Elijah is unbelievably strong, can shoot the ball at an exceptionally high level, and has a really high ceiling that I am not even sure he is aware of. We are excited to get Elijah on campus so we can get to work!"
