Men's Basketball Signs Northwest Cabarrus Standout Stafford-Gill

Charlotte, NC - JWU Charlotte Head Men's Basketball Coach Dan Larkin is proud to announce the signing of Chalen Stafford-Gill of Northwest Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC. The son of Tyisha Stafford and Nick Gill wraps up his high school career as one of the most decorated players in Trojan basketball history.

Stafford-Gill, a 6'6" forward, finished his prep career as a 3-time South Piedmont 3A All-Conference selection. Chalen also played for the EA Prep Stars on the grassroots circuit. When asked why he chose JWU, Stafford-Gill exclaimed "because it's close to home and I love the city atmosphere. I got a chance to work out with the team and I was really digging the vibe of the players and the coach."

Coach Dan Larkin was ecstatic to add a player and person of Chalen's ability. "Chalen has an unbelievable ceiling in terms of his potential for success here at JWU," said Larkin. "There will not be many guys in the USCAA that have the size to go toe-to-toe with Chalen in the paint. He is a tremendous student that will be exceptional in our SEE program and will bring a really calming presence to our locker room. We could not be more thrilled to have Chalen become a part of our basketball family."
