Men's Basketball Dominant In Season Opener

Charlotte, NC - The JWU Men's Basketball Team tipped-off their 19-20 season with a win over South Carolina Faith A&M on Saturday, 117-62.

The teams would battle back and forth for the first five minutes, with the Ragin' Bulls holding a 6-5 advantage before the Wildcats rattled off 14 straight points. JWU would keep the foot on the gas for the rest of the half, going into halftime holding a 43-29 lead.

The second half was all Wildcats as they outscored SCFAM 74-33. For the game, the Wildcats held their opponent to 37.7% while shooting 53%, and all 17 players dressed out for JWU scored a point in the contest. JWU shot 37% from three, with 10 different Wildcats connecting on a three, a new team record. The Wildcats out-rebounded the Ragin' Bulls 41-32 and forced 38 turnovers while only committing 16. JWU also held the bench scoring advantage 68-18. 

Majerle Poole led JWU in scoring with 19 points with Zyrion Wilkins adding 17. Robert Hobson and CJ Miller both had 12 points. 

The Wildcats travel to UNC Wilmington on November 5th for a 7:00 pm tip-off vs the NCAA D1 opponent.
