JWU Men's Basketball Lands Georgia Standout Meshida

Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte Men's Basketball Coach Dan Larkin announced Nate Meshida as the newest addition to the 2020 recruiting class.

Meshida arrives in Charlotte from Powder Springs, GA where he played for Hillgrove High School under Coach Edward Morris. The 6'3" guard was recognized as Region3-7A All-Region and All-Cobb County Honorable Mention. He played AAU for Game Elite Blue coached by Roger Hubbard.

"I chose JWU Charlotte because of the opportunities and advantages that come with playing and learning in a growing city," commented Meshida on his selection of Johnson & Wales.

Nate is the son of Olakunle and Elohor Meshida. He was an A/B Honor Roll student all four years at Hillgrove. Nate plans to major in Business at JWU.

"We are truly excited to bring in a young man of Nate's caliber into our program. Both on and off the court, as well as in the classroom, Nate is a winner. I really believe that he will not only grow tremendously here in Charlotte, but he will make us a better program from the time he steps on campus," said Coach Larkin. "Nate is a bruising wing with great size and playmaking ability. His versatility will allow him to thrive in our playing system and I cannot wait to get to work."
