JWU Men's Basketball Snags Georgia's Janard Mike

Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte Men's Basketball Coach Dan Larkin announced Janard Mike as the fourth member of the 2020 recruiting class. A native of Statesboro, GA, Mike comes to Charlotte after completing his high school career at Southeast Bulloch High School under Coach Matt Kuykendall. The guard averaged 13.7 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game during his senior year, and was a two time All-Region selection for the Yellow Jackets. Mike competed on the AAU circuit for Statesboro Magic under the tutelage of Coach Todd Gilchrist.

"I chose JWU Charlotte not only because the basketball program drew my attention, but the campus and the school itself made me feel like it was going to be a great fit," said Mike after committing to the Wildcats.

Janard is the son of Sanekia and Linton Jones and plans to major in Sports Management.

"I am tremendously pleased to add Janard to our 2020 class. It has truly been a pleasure getting to know him over the course of his recruitment and I believe his fit in Charlotte and here at JWU is impeccable," remarked Coach Larkin on his latest signing. "He is an elite rebounding guard that can impact the game in so many ways. I believe his game will continue to grow from being in our program and Janard makes us a better team from the get-go. He's going to be a great fit beside the guys currently in our locker room and I cannot wait to get to work here soon!"
