CHARLOTTE, NC -- JWU Charlotte Golf Coach Chris Jones welcomes Hillsboro, Oregon native Andrew Thimjon to the program. Thimjon spent his first two years et Johnson & Wales Denver. Prior to JWU Denver, Thimjon graduated from Century High School in 2018. As a junior, golfer, he was the Oregon Golf Association Cross Creek Champion. The man nicknamed "Freight" after a little league baseball collision also claimed the OGA Trysting Tree Invitational.
"I want to play golf, I love the faculty at JWU, and the instruction is solid," commented Thimjon. "I want to play golf all year round while I get my degree."
Andrew is the son of Jeanette Bren and Chris Thimjon and majors in Business Administration. He was recognized as an Athletics Honors Student for having a 3.5 GPA or higher in his freshman year. Thimjon was a three-time recipient of the Student Athletic Award in high school.
"Andrew will be a nice addition to our golf program this spring. He brings two years of college golf experience to JWU Charlotte," remarked Coach Jones on Thimjon. "I am excited that he has decided to come to the Queen City to continue his golf and academics."
