Greensboro, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte golfers Paul Ackerman and Logan Jarrett participated in the Griffin Amateur at Grandover Resort on October 23rd and 24th. The two freshmen played well, particularly in Saturday's second round in their second competitive outing of the Fall.

Ackerman, a Cummings, GA native, shot a second round 75 after opening with an 86. The 75 was one of the best 25 rounds posted on Saturday in the 122 man field. He played the back nine in 2 under par 34 including a birdie-eagle finish to the side on holes 17 and 18. His 161 total missed the 36 hole cut by one stroke.

Jarrett also played well in Saturday's second round, posting a 79. That was an 8 shot improvement over his opening round 87. He too had a good back nine, carding a 38 on that side. The Concord, NC native's 166 total was better than eleven Division I golfers that participated in the event.
