The Queens, New York native finished his prep career under Cesar Robles at Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, SC. The central midfielder played his club soccer for Discoveries SC, again coached by Robles, but this time on his National Premier League team.

Marin plans to major in Sports Management, and sees JWU as a fit for himself both academically and athletically: "Coach Payne really made things easy for me and showed me how much he sees in the program. Always how ready he is for what's next for the team. I realized I wanted to be led and coached by him. Researching the JWU Sports Management program also helped me decide to continue my education as a Wildcat."

"We're really excited to add a quality young man like Robert. His demeanor and positive attitude really stood out to me from our first conversation," commented Coach Payne. "In addition to being a great personality, he's a dynamic player that brings talent, athleticism, and versatility. I know he's been well coached by Coach Robles, and I'm proud to be trusted to help continue his development as a player."
