A 2019 graduate of Statesville High School, the 6'4" defender is transferring to JWU from Mars Hill University. At Statesville High School, he earned many accolades playing for Coach Eric Hanson. These honors include: Iredell County All-County (2017, 2018), North Piedmont All-Conference (2016, 2017, 2018), North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association ALL- STATE 3A (2017, 2018), All-American Nominee (2018), NC Powerade High School State Games (2018), NC High School Coaches East-West All-Star Game (2019). He also played for the North Carolina Olympic Development Program. Garrison played in the Carolina Rapids Development Academy team in 2016 before finishing his club soccer career under Andy Thompson at Premier UK Carolina Alliance and Carolina Velocity.

"I believe the school has the resources I need to be successful on the field and in the classroom," remarked Garrison on his signing.

Ross is the son of Pam and Allan Garrison and plans to major in Business. He was a 2019 Honors Graduate at SHS.

"We couldn't be more excited to add Ross and the Garrisons to our JWU family. He's a big, physical defender that is comfortable on the ball. We are happy to have him, and can't wait to watch him continue to grow as a young man and student-athlete," said Coach Payne. "After playing at Mars Hill in the fall, my club team played against him in a tournament this spring. He was an impressive player for Velocity FC, and when I heard he was seeking a new program, we jumped on the opportunity.
